Our Philosophy

A Community-Centered Approach to Sustainable Development

At Somal Community Farm Group, we believe that sustainable solutions are built from within pastoralist communities themselves.

We work alongside local elders, farmers, and women's groups to identify the root causes of food insecurity and environmental degradation. Every water pan constructed, every farm trained, and every cooperative formed is designed to be owned and sustained by the people it serves.

🌾

Local Ownership

Projects are managed by community committees to ensure long-term sustainability.

📊

Data-Driven

We measure success by improved livelihoods, food security, and community resilience.

1. Community Needs Assessment

We start by listening. We conduct participatory assessments to identify the specific needs of pastoralist communities.

🤝

2. Collaborative Planning

We co-design solutions with community leaders, elders, and women's groups to ensure cultural and contextual relevance.

🏗️

3. Implementation & Monitoring

Action is taken with constant oversight. We track progress and ensure resources reach those who need them most.
